A change in the near future?

Post by CA Mustang »

Bruce Weber resigned this morning from KSU. One of the names being mentioned is familiar: https://twitter.com/TheAthleticCBB/stat ... 7435165698

Oh great. Why couldn't Weber have waited a few days?

We saw what happened to our football team when the coaching rumors started.

You realize KD would probably go with him.

Tourney is the standard and it looks like itΓÇÖs going to happen. I donΓÇÖt want Jank to leave. Go see KDΓÇÖs interview on Jank. You can find it on the SMU Basketball page on Facebook.

A K State bar buddy always asks about SMU because of Jankovich. He thinks the world of him. I said take him. Guess the next week or so will see if it becomes "be careful what you wish for"

The success of any change can be measured only after we know the replacement. If Jankovich leaves and gets replaced by someone like Doherty or Tubbs, we'll all look back at Jankovich like he's John Wooden.

I'm not ready to put him on Mount Rushmore, but we're 22-7. Could be a lot worse.

I think the Jank of 21-22 has been good. Team is happy, playing well, pretty well coached. I think he has the best staff since he has been here, and it shows. Does that progress offset the last several years? I am not sure, but when I look at the quick lists of potential K-State replacements, I am not sure I would want them here more than the current version on Jank.
Interesting question - except for Sampson, which AAC current head coach would you rather have than Jank?

I'm happy with Jankovich for now. We better make the AAC tournament semifinal at least. I'd take Ron Hunter. I think he is building something at Tulane.

McCasland is going to be high on everyone's list and might be easy to lure away from UNT but Jank is a K-State alum and former player so he has some things going for him. Would hate to see him go and take KD and Bandoumel with him. Hope our guys finish strong, Jank stays and the seniors come back for another run

Yep, I didn't realize Janks background with k state until my buddy told me. So yeah, I consider that a looming issue. Why not go back home? If he leaves, I hope its because we had a strong run in the tournament. I can live with that outcome.

If Jank goes to KSU, KD is not going with him. The whole point of KD playing another college year was being near his son and his mother in Dallas.

KD loves Jank and told Billy Embody that if he decides to play another year, it would not be at SMU if Jank was gone. I believe he would absolutely go to K-state if they hire Jank. He would get the chance to play against elite competition that would enhance his journey.
Probaly won't happen...BUT...maybe it will!!

If we are going to lose Jank could we work a 2 for 1 deal and include little rickey?
Jank has had a good year but considering his past few years not sure I want him to stay. Like previously posted it would greatly depend who his replacement would be. Any chance LB returns? ha, one can always dream.
