What teams in Texas, other than SMU, do you guys support!

I will confess to pulling for all Texas teams (didn't pull for Tech when Leach was there, but will now for Tuberville), but it depends on who they are playing. I definitely pull for Rice, Houston and UTEP to win for the good of CUSA. Will even pull for the frogs. I want everyone on our schedule to win as may of their games as possible...as long as they don't beat us

I can't think of a non-Texas Big XII, CUSA, MWC or even a SunBelt team I would pull for over any of the schools from Texas.

It's when we start talking about schools outside of Texas that I run into conflicts

Oh, I generally prefer Texas schools over non-Texas schools, Southern schools over non-southern, and Western schools over Mid-West and eastern ones.

Closest I ever came to 'supporting' a school outside of SMU was Rice during their CWS run.

I actively root against Texas, Houston and Baylor. I generally could not possibly care less about North Texas, Rice, or UTEP. I'll form an opinion on the Aggies when they stop sucking.

TCU is the model I hope we copy. So we can beat them. Badly. Over and over.

SMU... number 1 no doubt.

UT - grew up watching them, and a lot of my family went there. Also went to both national championship games... can't wait till it's the mustangs playing in that one!

Baylor - My pops went there, grew up going to Baylor homecoming games

SHSU - Bearcats usually make (former) I-AA playoffs... and they were the hometown team.

I can pull for TCU most of the time. Absolutely, do NOT pull for ut--ever. Don't care for a&m, baylor or rice, but if they were playing an out-of-state team, and it wasn't one I like, I could pull for them. This year I will pull for north texas as long as my close friend's son is the starting QB. When we get so good that we are playing for a national championship, I'm sure the burnt orange school will make sure we get DP II. They have proven that they don't like it when we beat them at their own game!

It is still a secondary color for a secondary school. Same goes for Purple frogs.

I remember when the aTm dude pulled the sword on the SMU cheerleaders. I have a hard time rooting for aTm.

None -- the Mustangs are the only team in Texas. But I have reasons to NOT root for the others:

Baylor High: In one of the first years after we resumed playing football, Grant Teaff (who some folks swear is a good, fair, decent man) called for a pass on a fake punt in the waning minutes of a game in which Baylor was leading by almost 40 points -- went for a touchdown against an undermanned SMU team. Took a few cops to keep Forrest Gregg from beating Teaff's [deleted] at midfield.

That [deleted] Teaff did the same to us in 85 or 86 after half our team was suspended. Onside kick, up by 30 with 4 minutes left. You guys obviously got hit harder by the NCAA but we were killed and then defibulated. Alive but on life support. Teaff politcked the Bears into the Big 12 and twisted the screws to TCU and SMU to help the cause.

Sept 18 is coming and I pray GP listened to Herby preach that style points are crucial to BSU and TCU. I just wish Teaff was still the coach.

Otherwise I agree with your list but would substitute SMU for TCU on that line.

Love this rivalry and stoked June has you guys on the Map and growing. Only going to get more intense. I'll be there in a few weeks!
