I'd be nice to have a good mix frats and non frats. The frats definitely get things started. This current group of students need direction, that's for sure.
Does the MOB ever meet? If so, is this discussed?

Which means that greeks aren't getting back until the middle of next week, and the rest of the student body doesn't get back until the week after that. We haven't established enough basketball tradition for students to fly home from their Whistler or Bahamas getaways early to catch josh Pasthner's growing belly. Those students that were there last night are Dallas natives, or kids that don't have high school friends.
Residence halls open for all students on Jan 11 and school resumes officially on Jan 16, but you're right - a bunch of students probably won't bother coming back for one day of class before a three-day holiday weekend and will instead choose to show up on the following Tuesday.

well at least all those involved with rush will be there for ECU, bid day is posted for the 18th this year for both Fraternities and Sororities. Which knowing the huge hangover I had those nights I wonder how that will work with school monday (18th) and tuesday. I bet a lot of people miss class

I agree that the crowd as been lackluster, but for all of you blaming the students, or the band, or the cheerleaders, or whomever, how many times did you (1) join (let alone start) a cheer started by one of those 3 groups (I was in the Alumni Band last night, and this old fart started a cheer virtually every time down the court -- I do it up in my normal seats too, to the quizzical stares of many), (2) sing Pony Battle Cry (if you even know the words), (3) stand up and clap along to Peruna, (3) stand up and move any part of your body to 7NA, Jump or any other song, or (4) open your mouth to make any sort of sound other than yelling at the refs for a bad call (if that).
Why doesn't everyone b!thcing be the change they want to see in Moody instead of expecting everyone else to create the atmosphere? I don't expect all the older folks to stand up the entire game. But if you are physically able, the get your arse up on occasion, and make your own noise.

I agree-about the only energy in the whole arena is from the Alumni Band-great job.

There was one boisterous guy in section 205 who had some pretty funny moments last night yelling at the Memphis players, the refs, etc. - though he seemed to be surrounded by bluehairs and staidness - not many people got on their feet in that section at all last night.

I'm in 202 and am usually one of the few to stand up or shout something. In the bigger games, I spend the energy to get the people around me up and involved. But for a blowout like that, I back off and just do my own thing. Besides, last night I had the same person from Memphis behind me who was there the last memphis game. If anyone heard some yelling about firing the Memphis, coach that was him. If anyone heard someone yell out "Iverson is right", that was me helping him out

.

The whole crowd was dead pretty much the whole game - not sure what it was though it must be partly that Memphis is having such a bad year. When they made that little run in the second have it got a little loud, but Moody just never got rocking - more students of course would have helped for sure.
Still it is always fun to beat Memphis. I always remember Coach Doh always calling them Memphis State and telling them to take down their final four banner from 2008. That was beautiful.

Fun fact - we have won 4 of the last 5 at Moody against Memphis.

wasn't me, but I did get stared at very uncomfortably for yelling for 3/4 of the USF game when I was in 104. Turner even stared.... Made me feel like I did something right. Haha.

We call first week "syllabus" week. Also known as "class at Milos" week, or when weather permits "keeton 18" week.

Including certain trombone players.
