Memphis players on our student section

Post by LA_Mustang »

“@Peter_Fleischer: Shaq and Austin Nichols both talked about how wild and rowdy the SMU student section gets. Both said they embrace the environment.”

I hope they show up Thursday.

not back yet. Its too bad. Memphis is a fun one - their little miny coach gets rattled pretty easy.

When does rush start? Hoping some upperclassmen might be back, but not expecting the rowdy Memphis crowd of last year. :/

I can't imagine not being back in town for stuff like this if I was still in school.

I saw a MOB member on TV at the Cincy game on one of the baselines. Loved to see that dedication from the students over the break...

I know right. What else is there unless you're working a job or something? What could you be doing "back home"? Sleeping in and watching youtube videos?

Maybe reading posts and leaving snarky comments on PF?

A large part of the student body isn't from Texas. It's not like California is a short car ride from campus

I would think anybody who had a friend with an apartment would be back in town for a big conference game with the new Moody - but then again I was a huge SMU fan in college. I'm not sure there are that many these days, but hopefully that is changing.

If I was still a student and from out of state there's no doubt I would've planned to come back early with the Memphis game and with the championship game here this weekend there's a ton of stuff going on. Plus, after Christmas and New Years do you really want to still be at home?

In just stating a fact. It's a blessing and a curse to have such a national school. It's great as a student to meet people from around the country but has a negative impact in situations like this. I have planned many trips around Smu events as a student but I know it isn't easy for everyone

There is always your tan to consider. And there are only so many flights daily from Puerto Vallarta.

depends where home is and what is going on. My child was 1800 miles away and outside NYC. Lot's to do up here. Our child did not come home on weekends like so many others. even some holidays were to short to justify 4 hours air flight home and back.

I'm expecting our student presence to be weak for the Memphis game like it has been all year. I was hoping this week was rush week because then you could expect a rowdy greek presence in the student sections but unfortunately rush week is next week from what I've heard.

I need somebody to get Kuran Iverson's retweet bashing Pastner blown up and put on a posterboard in the student section.

The Big money Blue Hairs in the red seats are louder than the student section this year.. actually showing up more too.
What we obtain too cheap.. we esteem too lightly. It is persistence alone that gives everything its value.
