E. Tex is an area that coaches holds grudges and to have someone come from OOS and pull ships will long be remembered.

That's baloney.

Why? Have talked to the coaches at both Tyler schools (public) recently and I absolutely guarantee they look after their own and do not appreciate anybody doing anything wrong to them.

If JJ wants to kill a pipeline to E. Tex that is fine, but I really doubt he has a clue what he is doing with this situation.

Laughable-- If these guys could coach, they would be outta the Piney Woods by now.

Quick! Name the last time SMU had anyone from Lee or JT. That's what I thought. Now, JJ should call up Allen Wilson at Carter and say "remember how back=@ssward things at TISD were when you were there? Well get a load of this. Anyway, got anybody we could use?"

HF, whatever became of the all-everything kid from Tatum that signed w/ TCU a couple of years ago? Can't recall his name..

Also, I really don't care if it is classless. I am sick of losing. Would you rather have the "classy behavior" of Bennett with a class full of spares like this tubby guy, or do you want a class full of winners, recruited by a winner like June Jones?

I'm sick of losing too! I feel for Ralston, but I understand that Jones wants to bring in his own guys. With that being said, (if Owens is telling the truth) we should have contacted Ralston first. He shouldn't be forced to call the school because no one from the athletic department has talked to him since Jones was hired. That's bush league and personally, I'm embarrassed if the school acted that way.

Again, Owens is holding all the cards in this because he knows we can't comment on this per NCAA rules. We don't know the specifics. But Owens has done a very nice job of spinning and spewing toward us.

I'm not saying what we did was right, but I'm giving new coaches like Jones and Briles a little more latitude. Guys like Mike Gundy -- that's a different story.

Lots of talent coming out of Lee and just because SMU has not been able to grab any isn't a Lee problem, but more of an SMU problem. You finally make some connections with a great program and guess what happens?

As for Stephen Hodge, the kid is a beast at SS. Guy hits like a ton of bricks and has all-american potential next season. He had a great year in 2007. Is that the kid your were asking about?
