Thank you to the MC member who donated many hours and dollars to revamp the site. I am excited to have Tim McMurray helping us.
You saw that on the other thread we are close to reaching the goal of $2.25 million. The fundraising we have seen recently is as good as I have ever seen it since I began at SMU in 1987.
We have momentum.
If you haven't joined and think you can part with $150, please do so. Besides, it's a TAX DEDUCTION.
If you can do $50, great. Do not feel like if you can do only X that it's not enough. It is and it is appreciated. That extra $50 could do wonders for that travel budget or something else.
The heavy hitters are hit and miss but welcomed just the same. SMU needs the base to be there and remain consistent.
If you know of a fan of SMU who would like to contribute, please tell him/her about the Mustang Club.
The $$$ raised is crucial if this athletic program is really going to make strides.
A couple of points--if you give to a specific sport, say soccer rather than the general "club" the money doesn't count for your seat selection, second even if you don't give $500 you can still get into the Blvd. tent by paying an entrance fee on game day--I don't recall the amount. It still makes sense to give to the club or to your favorite sport, but at this point in time we still haven't got to the rabbid stage to make this the "IN" club it could become. Part of the problem is there has never been a membership meeting, a board elected by the membership or a President elected by the members. No criticsm of those involved, but it does leave everyone feeling that they have been left out, not matter what their level of giving--in that sense it is not a club just a charitable fund raising effort.

I think they haven't had meetings or elected a board because they probably don't believe they have the numbers they need.
Call me a blind contributor. My money goes to the SMU athletic department, and that's all I care about.

-- I'l have to agree. I appreciate all the efforts --The Mustang Club seems a little too secretive - they need to open this thing up and let everyone know what is going on. Why is everything cryptic.

MC was lead player in UBL takedown. You just don't know how big this thing is.
