Question - why does this team have so much trouble winning on the road. There always Moody Magic but we just don’t play the same on the road. Coaching?

Todorovic came in to today shooting 46.6% on 3s — just hit his first on three attempts from long range
69-53 with 3:54 to go

So we can’t hit a 3 and our best comes in with less than 4 to play?

Most teams have a harder time on the road — enemy fans, not as comfortable in other arenas, travel, etc.
Today is about size and domination inside. To win against a team with a decided size advantage, 3s become critically important. In SMU's win over UH at Moody, the Ponies hit 12 of 23 on 3s; today, 4 of 20.
Get out rebounded 48-24 and go cold from long range, and it doesn't matter where you play.

Even Dr. Turner left the game early. (Which is pretty crappy).

Actually this team does win on the road and is still 6-5 on the road for this season. They just struggle against good teams, as does the rest of the college basketball world. Today our guys lost their composure and forced too many shots, missed wide open shots and even layups. What's more disappointing than losing road games is that we haven't been competitive in several of those losses

Jank went to Agunanne, Clark & Young early today in an attempt to keep Houston off the boards but our bigs are either too slow or play too soft to compete with Houston. Weathers twins were in there battling but guys were going right over the top of them for offensive boards all day long. Carlton, White and even Roberts late were just a total mismatch against our guys. Amazing we were able to beat them in Dallas but that's college basketball and home court advantage at work

Missing Phelps today made a huge difference. Easy to overlook what great defense he plays and how he disrupts the opponents' guard play

I just saw where our girls team, got run out of the gym against Houston yesterday. Do they have a bunch of injuries, because they have taken a nose dive.

I don't remember seeing such poor officiating in a long time. The officiating was extremely inconsistent and took our guys out of their game. Fabian White was all over the place constantly going over the back on rebounds and hugging our guys and got no fouls called against him. Another one of our guys got hooked by a UH player and no call. Meanwhile, Marcus falls to the ground and gets called for a foul when he was on the ground. That let UH play extremely aggressively and took the Weathers brothers out for long stretches of the game adding to a huge rebounding disparity. Also, we started off 0-8 from 3 which was a killer. We made a few 3s to start the second half but weren't able to sustain that for long enough to take the crowd out of it. Lose another game and our season is over so win out!

I wouldn't say the season is over with another loss, but it has NIT written all over it at this point. I just hope SMU gets a high enough seed to get a home game or two and can actually advance if the NIT is this team's destiny. With so many good teams in college hoops, I'm not sure we deserve the NCAAs...unless of course our guys can earn the AAC's auto bid
