A&M's band plays over our school song at the end of the game pretty much every time they come to Lubbock. If they win or lose... they think it's time for Yell Practice when the Tech band is playing the Matador song.
So you agree that it's classless. Good start.

Uh oh - your buddies admit that you do it too. Sounds like you guys need to huddle up and get your story straight.
Here's the deal - SMU has had great teams, average teams and horrible teams - but not once has anyone every accused SMU fans of chanting or booing during another team's school song - because that has never happened. The reason that has never happened is even the most idiotic, over served, low end SMU fan is not that low - and if someone ever tried it they would be shouted down by other SMU fans. We are not angels - but we understand basic sportsmanship.
That single thing - which happens often at Tech - illustrates the difference between our respective fan base - and until it stops you can't even really have this conversation.

It's our mutual hatred and unwillingness to forget or forgive even the slightest insult that makes these games between former SWC foes so special.
Couldn't agree more. The SWC was the best conference and still lives on in the blood of those who were around to see it. There are few teams I hate more than the former SWC teams, and particularly the SWC teams in the Big former 12.
