Yeah, that's him. I remember when he used to do "Sports Brothers" with Leon, the barber. What an interesting combo there. Of course, the great Gordo always did a good Leon imitation that had me rolling. Oh, those were the days.
For my money, Wally was the best announcer we've had since football came back. I like Followill a lot, followed by Rich. Those of you who remember 1989 (and 1990, I think) will remember the trainwreck known as Ted Dawson. Awful. He now does radio for Boise State. (And, oddly, he's the sportscaster at the end of that bad Anthony Michael Hall recruiting movie, "Johnny Be Good." He's as awful in that as he is on the air.)
Wally and Forrest were a great combo calling games. Wally was also a good host for the Tom Rossley show back in the day. His call of that last second TD from Flanigan to Berry to win the New Mexico at Ownby was awesome!
I thought there was a story in the DMN a few years back about him. Didn't he make a ton of money on Broadcast.com and then lose it in Yahoo? I think he was retired in Horseshoe Bay but had to go back to work.
