Adami hasn't thrown in the towel

Allan Adami Unplugged (Entry 5)
10/27/2004

Entry 5: Oct. 27

I know it has been a long time since I've posted anything, and I'm sorry for that. It's just been hard finding things to write about these last few weeks. However, even with the last two games being upsetting losses, I feel very confident going into Fresno State. We have had a full two weeks to prepare for them and I believe it will help us to a victory. And speaking of believing, this team hasn't given up yet. We are now pulling together more than ever. With hopes of winning a conference championship gone, we are now playing for pride. Being a senior, these are possibly the last four games I will ever play. I will do whatever it takes to help ensure that my time here has not been a waste. I want to help theses younger guys get the wins that will propel them into a great off-season. I was hoping just like everyone else that this would be the year to turn everything around. Unfortunately, we haven't done that so far this year. Myself and the other seniors will try to lead the underclassmen the best we can until our time here is done. So don't give up on us Mustang fans, we're not giving up on ourselves.

He came to SMU as a boy and will be leaving as a man. His parent must truly be proud.

I'm not even related and I'm proud of him. He and his brother obviously have some great parents!

You also can count me among the ranks of those who genuinely are proud of the Adami boys (and their parents for raising such classy young men.) I hate that people like Allan and his family have to read such negative thoughts as those posted by a few on this board, and those are posted by people who never have slid into shoulder pads or tightened up a chinstrap. Just know that the vast majority of PonyFans are solidly behind Allan and his whole team.

Great note from Allan. These guys haven't given up on themselves or Coach Bennett. That's all I need to hear.

Having talked to some players over the last 2 weeks, I didn't think there was anyone giving up, on each other or on the coaches. Great to hear. These guys are dedicated players and dedicated Mustangs.

Go Ponies! Beat Fresno!
