Wow. Can ya'll memorize one? Hey, dork. The SMU band has quite a repertoire. I'd put the SMU band up against the marching Frogs any ol' day of the week. Bring it on!Frog03 wrote:Bergermeister wrote:The TCU band is not good.
Maybe we'll just stick with playing 1 song and then we'd sound as good as the SMU band.

Show Window of the Southwest
Did someone say "Show Window of the Southwest"?
Atleast the Mustang Band HAS attended games on Thanksgiving AND Christmas Eve in the same season (back when we went to bowl games). Although, I would prefer to forget the latter game. 22 degrees, 30+ mph winds and they had the nerve to call it the sun bowl.

Isn't that what you already do? I've been to games at TCU and I can't recall anything other than "Rock and Roll Part 2" (aka the "Hey song"). While I am as big a Gary Glitter fan as anybody, I have to say it got old.

If a school has an itty bitty band with itty bitty talent, then they probably have the ability to learn only 1 song.
We didn't ever complain about road trips, with by bus or plane; in fact, the longer, the better. And we never cheered for our opponents; we jeered them.
Even though the band currently isn't at its earlier 96 membership, they can outplay any band in the land. And their repertoire can't be matched. And the only 2 songs they play repeatedly are "Peruna" and "Pony Battle."

I'm a fan of the Mustang Band, Diamond girl, but as I think SMU's bunch needs more #s before they'd be able to compete with LSU's Tiger Band. As a season ticket holder to both schools, I've heard both bands often, and I'd rank the "Mighty Mustang Band" (in the words of GW Bush) #1a behing the Tiger Band. At the SEC championship game a year ago, the headline in the Atlanta Journal-Constitution the next day led with, "LSU, with its 32-tuba Tiger band..." Now that's something when you make a bigger impression than even the game itself.
