zach hall

This may be old news but I have not seen it on the board. I understand Zach has signed with one of the Arkansas directional schools (not sure which one) so he could play right away. If true, this would open up another scholarship and also make us even thinner at linebacker. It also might explain part of the reason why Chris backed off. Can anyone confirm?

why would he do that? he'd still have to sit out 1 year and then only have 2 to play...

GRGB: If it's an Arkansas directional school, he won't have to sit out. The only D-I schools in Arkansas are the Hogs & Ark State. The rest are either I-AA (not many...UAPB is the only one I'm sure of) and D-II (most of 'em...Ouachita, Harding, Henderson St., Southern Arkansas, Ark.-Monticello).

That's not why Chris backed off. But Zach, I assume, saw limited playing time, which undoubtedly factored into his playing time.
Whatever his reasons, I wish him well. He's a good guy, and I hope he enjoys great success wherever he ends up.

If Hall was at Blinn, I'd bet the house he's going to Henderson State. The Blinn coach took the Henderson St. job and is trying to get as many of his players there as he can. The BU QB King came from Blinn and is rejoining this guy at Henderson St. Since it's D-2, there is no requirement to sit out a year.

Anybody know if there are there any 'player tampering' rules at D-II schools? How is this new Henderson Coach getting players to transfer when he's only had the job less than 2 weeks?

It is my understanding DI coaches can not even TALK to players from other DI programs until school #1 'releases' the player.

I'm not trying to keep Hall here, just curious if same rules apply at the DII level.

Its against NCAA rules for a coach at any level to solicit the transfer of a player who is on scholarship at another NCAA school, at any level. That doesnt mean it might not have happened in the Dane King case, but its illegal.

Hall never went to Blinn, he came to SMU straight from high school, and has no connection to the coach now at Henderson state. I dont even think thats where he's going.

I think he's confusing Hall with Chase. Didn't Bobby Chase go to Blinn?
At no point in your rambling, incoherent response were you even close to anything that could be considered a rational thought. Everyone in this room is now dumber for having listened to it. I award you no points, and may God have mercy on your soul.

Doesn't surprise me at all. I saw Hall at a couple of the summer and fall workouts, and I commented to a friend that he appeared to not give a rats arse. Not to mention that he couldn't get on the field this past year, when we were decimated and desperate at linebacker.
