TAMU Cornerback Arrested on Pot Charges
COLLEGE STATION, Texas - Texas A&M cornerback Broderick Newton was arrested late Saturday night and charged with misdemeanor possession of marijuana, a College Station Police Department spokesman said.
It was the second arrest in 17 months for the former Aledo standout, who played in all 12 games off the bench last season as a redshirt freshman and was expected to compete for a starting job in the spring.
Newton was pulled over on a routine traffic stop, according to police, and the officer running his license found an outstanding warrant from the Brazos County Sheriff's Office for a 2003 evading arrest charge. While Newton was being arrested for that, police said a search turned up less than two ounces of marijuana.
Newton was charged with evading arrest in September 2003 and received deferred adjudication. The sheriff's office could not confirm Sunday whether that charge was the same one for which he had the outstanding warrant.
A&M officials did not return phone calls seeking comment.
A&M's football team was plagued by a string of arrests during the 2003 season and ensuing off-season, but there had not been any reported incidents since last spring.

SHOCKING! You know I'm getting pretty tired of people posting ever little embarrassing piece of dirt about one of our opponents. COLLEGE KID SMOKES DOPE! Film at 11:00. Its classless. Of course, SMU offered this kid and wanted him badly. Just remember the story is going to be about an SMU kid next time.

And if it is, I'll post that, too. You think it's classless. Fine, you're entitled to your opinion. However, I think it's good for folks - fans and potential recruits - to see that this type of behaviour should not be tolerated and there are consequences for such action.
BTW, congrats on your classification as a ponyfans.com 'legend'.

I seriously doubt we have a 100 angels on our squad. I know we sure as hell didn't when I was in school, and that wasn't very long ago.
The attitude dictates that you don't care whether she comes, stays, lays, or prays. I mean whatever happens, your toes are still tappin'. Now when you got that, then you have the attitude.
