H.P. Scouting
This past week four teams of scouts/coaches have been to see Matt Stafford. TT,Texas,OSU and Kansas. He attended the combine at the east west game last week as well. He will heat up activity at HP next season for his teammates just by being there.
I'm no scout or coach, so this obviously is not an expert opinion. But having seen HP play several times, I can't think of a single D-IA candidate on that team other than the QB, and frankly, I wonder if he's a bit overhyped. I mean, he's very good, and I think he'll be good at the college level, but I keep reading all this stuff about him like he's the next Heisman winner or something. I like the guy, and I hope he enjoys that kind of success (at SMU, of course), but ....
Like I said, the coaches who have scouted him obviously see more there than I do. Best of luck to him (as long as he comes to SMU!)

SMU,Baylor and Michigan also came last week. The QB is the cherry they are all looking for but next year another 5-6 D1 players could likely emerge. In Eidson's grad class 5 went D1 and 13 total went to the next level. Not sure the next class can duplicate that but the type A over achievers always find a way to emerge.
That's true, there always seem to be a bunch of overachievers there. But I saw them play once this year. They're certainly a good team, but Stafford was the only one I saw who made me think "that guy can play in college." Seemed to me like a case of the total being greater than the sum of its parts.
And they're obviously very well-coached.
