Toledo hitting 55% of their 3 pointers and SMU has only ONE assist to 5 turnovers. Story of the 1st half. Better come out strong in the 2nd half if SMU wants to have any hope of winning this game.

I heard 1 assist to EIGHT turnovers. Either way, we gotta step it up. All these 3-pointers sounds like shades of Dement's team. Buck up, Mustangs, we need this win!

Knuckle: You're right...we do have 8 TOs to only one assist. Meanwhile, Toledo has 10 assists and 8 different guys have scored for them. I look forward to having apoint guard again someday who takes pride in dishing our assists.

Castro really is coming into his own as of late. 16 pts. so far, and he just had a sweet assist. I believe he has more assists in this game than any of our guards. I'm not a Bhop basher, he's our best player, but I agree with you CP, we are a better team when he makes the players around him better by finding the open man. Oh, well, Hop just hit a three-pointer, so the hell with me... :)

No question BHop is our best player, but I'd like to see him back next year as the 2 guard with Dez running the point. Ponies hanging tough in this one 59-55.

It doesn't sound like these Toledo guys are getting wide open threes. Seems like every one they make, Lewin says he can't believe the guy made it, the defense was so good. But they've got eight. Anybody watching Game Plan on TV, and got a visual on this? Conventional wisdom dictates that they have to go cold for the last 5 minutes, at the very least.

you know it's funny if you check the SMU season stats Castro almost has as many Turnovers as Hopkins (68-61) and he probably touches the ball 1/3 to 1/4 of the time that Hopkins does. I bet Castros numbers rank very high in the country for turnovers by a Center yet he is considered-probably correctly to be having a nice year.

Next years starting 5:

Willingham PG (9.5 Apg)
Hopkins SG (27.8 ppg)
Reay F (The Marine)
Pearson F (poor man's Bryant Stith?)
"bulked up" Rack at center (out for blood!)

big dance here we come

So where is Derrick Roberts in your line up...off the bench?

PK, it is important to realize that Rack will get winded. With his purported vertical leap, Derrick will develop a respectable high-flying hook shot by October and spell Rack at center, averaging 11.7 ppg.

I know it pains you when any SMU player gets any accolades at all, but at least be a little more thorough with your thought process. Seeing as Eric often plays in the high post possition which has him handling the ball alot and has 236 FGA vs Hop's 265, I would say he touches the ball almost as much as Hop does. When Eric does get the ball, he almost immediately has two or more opponents draped on him, so having a large number of TO's is not too suprising. Let's give Eric some credit and respect too, his FG percentage is higher than Hop's...56% vs 41% and he is averaging 14.4 PPG vs Hop's 17.5 which is pretty respectable IMO. Yes Eric is having a nice year, and if you would go to the games and pay attention, you would see that he is playing good defense too.

And in todays game, Eric's stats were, FG's 7 of 12 vs Hopkin's 5 of 13: TO's Eric 2, Hop 4: Steals, Eric 3 Hop 1. They both wound up with 18 points. So once again, Stallion, pull your head out and give Eric his due!

What is the deal Stallion...are you bi-polar or what? Take your blinders off and pay attention to whats going on Things are getting better. It may not be by leaps and bounds, but the momentum is in the right direction. Forget Pye...he is dead and so are most of his misguided thoughts about athletics. Get on the positive wagon and stop [deleted]. If you got a problem, take it to the AD or Pres. Turner. Stop filling the air with your sour grapes fumes.
