MEMO TO A.D. COPELAND - SHOW SOME RESPECT!

Post by MrMustang1965 »

Maybe I'm being nitpicky...but it really chapped my butt to see the A.D. of SMU yakking it up with a few fans and the SMU COACHES while "Varsity" was being played after the comeback, overtime win aganist Tulsa tonight.

Note to Copeland: show a little respect for the school and the fans who turn out to support the Mustangs. KEEP YOUR MOUTH SHUT DURING "VARSITY" or at least learn the lyrics and sing along with the rest of us!

Even I don't blame Copeland for his excitement after the game... his job is to "yak it up." That was a sweet win... let's not get negative here for something like that, mon...

I'm sort of in the middle of you guys. Yes, I'd like to see Copeland stand and sing with the rest of the SMU community. But I also appreciate the importance of executive schmoozing, and it was great to see him sitting last night with the great Jerry LeVias, who seemed to be having a great time at the game. That is a man we need to have more and more involved with SMU, and he has to want to be there, and from where I was sitting, he seemed to be enjoying himself with Copeland and cheering with passion for the Ponies. Great sight.

Sorry Mr. Mustang. That's kinda his job...to "yak it up" with prominent alums, boosters, etc.

I didn't stay for Varsity...had to be somewhere else after the game. I guess I lack respect as well.

Obviously, I'm in the minority on this one. I just thought Copeland could have waited a minute (approx. running time of "Varsity") before he started his schmoozing.

And no, Eddie P....you don't lack respect. But would it have KILLED ya to stay an extra minute or two to sing "Varsity"...especially after that great OT win?

And yes, it would have literally killed me. I would have fallen right over the rail into the student section. There would have been a huge scandal.

Plus, let me tell you that its not easy resurrecting yourself. It's hard work. And you have a headache for days afterward.

You need a new limo driver. The one you have sounds like a pansy! And obviously doesn't carry enough $$$ to bribe the SMU cops. I'm looking for a job and I can take his place in a heartbeat. Call me. We can have drinks and discuss my salary.

I only hire limo drivers 6'4" or taller. If you fit that bill, we can talk. You must also be licensed to carry a concealed weapon and have a resume that includes being a former professional kick boxer. If this is you, please let me know and we'll discuss salary options.

I almost forgot...you have to be easy on the eyes. This helps me meet women, because I don't know how to do that on my own. For easy reference, you must look something similar to Rogers Healy.

Eddie P.: I'm 6'4.5", weigh 250 lbs. and was a former center on my football team. Kickboxing is for pansies. I have a concealed handgun permit and am a former employee of the 4th largest police department in the United States. As for being 'easy on the eyes' and able to meet young women...look at the photo to the left...I suspect I was gettin' chicks before you were born, or maybe still in diapers. And look like Rogers Healy? Oh, please.

Let's talk.

I wondered if that was Jerry. Guess he was up here on business from Houston.
