What really caught my attention in the press release was the part about the championship game once again being on CBS, and all other tourney games being shown nationally on either ESPN or CSTV. Like Mustang Sally I'm also curious where the CUSA women's tourney will be next year, if anyone happens to know.

Conference USA officials have recommended that the 2006 women's basketball and women's tennis championships be held at SMU.
The basketball tournament would be held March 2-5. The tennis championships would be April 20-23.
The conference's board of directors will make a final decision on the recommendation at its June 6-7 meetings in Dallas.

It would be a smart move for C-USA to hold both the men's and women's basketball tournaments in the exact same city at the exact same time. This helps attendance at these events, and is a nice perk for the fans to get to see two of their teams playing without having to travel to different locations.
A couple of years ago when the Big 12 had the annual post season tournament in Dallas, the men's games were at the American Airlines Center, while the women played at Reunion. Seems like it would make a lot of sense for the C-USA men to play at the Grizzlies arena, and for the women to have their tournament at the pyramid.
If you did that every year, you could start to build up a tradition, plus it could possibly serve as a bit of an anchor to keep the league's flagship basketball program from ever hopping to a different conference.

Memphis has had a good run of late, but Houston, Tulsa and UTEP certainly have bigger caps than the Tigers ever have. Plus, Memphis will continue to hike their skirts up for the BE because they have some history with Louisville and let's face it the BE is still BCS guaranteed. If the BE loses that BCS status, I don't think Memphis will move anywhere. The only way the BE expands is if football teams break off from bball only schools. Memphis would find itself in a very tough basketball conference (Syr., Pitt, UConn, Louisville, WVa., Cincy) vs. a chance to dance virtually every year in CUSA.
