Hey ponies!

I don't know if we will be your rival, but we sure will have fun kicking your butts every year! :D

Oh, please... It's still "Cougar High" down there on the Gulf Freeway. Are we gonna be playin' ya'll in that cheap a** Robertson Stadium, too? With all the SMU alumni who live in Houston, ya'll oughta change the location to Reliant Stadium. :D

We'll have a winning record by the time we play you too! What are the chances of that!

So I am in law school in Houston and I am at orientation and somebody said somehting like, "You are all Cougars, now." And I rather loudly retorted, "Not bloody likely." Was in school there 3 years, never saw a Houston game, never knew when Houston was playing and never knew what Houston's record was. I couldn't even tell you how to get to the stadium. Still, I did manage to catch about 1 or 2 Rice games a year. I think you can guess what one of those Rice games was every year. UofH is a two bit commuter school built in a swamp. Law school is pretty nice, though.
At no point in your rambling, incoherent response were you even close to anything that could be considered a rational thought. Everyone in this room is now dumber for having listened to it. I award you no points, and may God have mercy on your soul.

Geez, Dooby, I figured you for an SMU Law School guy like myself. What a letdown. At least you had the presence of mind to nip that "Cougars" thing in the bud.

I'm better at math than most SMU law students. UofH's law school was ranked higher at the time and I took the cost of 1 year's tuition at SMU Law School and subtracted the cost of 3 year's tuition at UofH Law School and when I ended up with a number greater than zero, the decision was pretty easy. And when they threw some extra money at me, well... I am not made of stone.

Of course, I got the hell out of there as fast as I could.

Maybe that is why I couldn't stand Cavan. I can't think of him without thinking of that miserable thursday night sitting in my $hitty little apartment off Westheimer watching 6-4 SMU lose to 0-10 TCU.

Dooby: That was me you heard screaming at my TV set at my apartment up on FM1960 that same night! Of course, I'm sure Stallion was still praising Cavan the next day, despite that miserable night!

Doobs - I agree with almost everything you post -but unless you can show me third party eveidence to the contrary, I refuse to believe that UH 's law school was ever better then SMU's. That just does not seem possible.

No. No. That not true! That's impossible!!!

But alas, it was true all along.

Not that I actually care, but here is a link to the US News List from 1997. As you can see, SMU is second tier; U of H is first. The two swapped spots, I believe, in 1999.
