what in the heck was B-Hop thinking

Post by tmustangp »

so bhop is gone until december 6th... once again smu athletics screws up... honestly how many guys across the ncaa barely stay eligible every semester... i guess the difference is that he is taking real classes unlike the guys at arizona who major in family studies or shag majoring in general studies where all he did basicaly was take 40 101 class to graduate.

But still bhop said he was "distracted by the nba" ... what the hell was he talking about, he didn't have a chance at making the nba...he wasn't even first team all wac and he was thinking about joining the nba... apparently he has a kid and all that stuff, but honestly all he had to do was take 6 bloody hours this summer and he would have been eligible...

PATHETIC IN MY MIND

This isn't a case of SMU athletics screwing up. This is a case of the athlete screwing up. Sounds like he knows it. Whether he gets his grades right this fall, we'll see. And whether or not he had a legitimate shot at the NBA is moot now -- it happened, and we hashed that out at the time. This happens at every school. Now it's up to Hop to hit the books and be ready in December.

Bhop obviously has dreams of playing in the NBA someday and my guess is that he ends up in Europe or the NBDL to keep working towards that dream. I don't know what kind of student he's been, but my guess is there are plenty of guys playing Division I hoops who are dangerously close to losing their eligibility...but for some "program-friendly" professors.

What's up with the LEC

Post by PonyTime »

Isn't the LEC/Athletic department supposed to be monitoring these guys?

Are Vicki Hill and Barb Totzke still around? They have worked wonders with some of the "hard cases" in the past . . .

Don't get me wrong - this is nobody's fault but B-Hop - I am just wondering if the support structure is still there . . . I have been out of the loop for a while . . .
