The DMN seemed to have a somewhat positive view of SMU's talent this year. Here's a good question, how does this team match up at each position when compared to the 1997 team (which obviously had a lot of talent).
QB -- 1997 team was probably better with Ramon and Sanders
RB -- 1997 team with Womack (more experience there)
OL -- Definitely 1997 team
WR -- Very young talent on '97 team with Brewer and the kid from OKC (Newsom). But DMN actually finds 2005 team very talented
DL -- Did the '97 team have much in the way of DTs? I think that Mercury Hall was a DT? Obviously Luke whatever was a great talent
LBs -- Could be a draw
DBs -- Had some NFL talent on '97 team.

Luke Johnson was a DE, I think. The force was with him.
