Reggie McNeal should be your biggest concern
I would not worry about the running game too much. Because just like Vince Young your going to have to stop McNeal. He can do it all, and is probably a better passer than Vince Young. He is probably the best QB you will face all year. Good luck!

Hey look! It's the same old tired argument that Vince can't pass! Reggie would be UT's 3rd string QB.
Anyway, I don't think SMU should just worry about Reggie. aTm has enough skill players that all of the SMU defense will need to be on its toes. OSU worried too much about Vince and let the WR's beat them.

Reggie would be UT's 3rd string QB.
On which planet? The one where Matt Leinart and not Matt Nordgren is your 2nd string?
I think both guys are great QB's for their respective schools, but even giving you Vince > Reggie (which, again, is debatable), name the other QB on Texas' roster that plays ahead of McNeal.

Opps, that was supposed to be more toungue-in-cheek than anything. I forgot the
.
But, I do think Nordgren would give him a run for his money. Many people forget how highly touted he was coming out of high school.
Ags so very much want Reggie to be as dynamic as Vince, but it just isn't there. Their respective records as starters says all that needs to be said.
But, let's not derail this thread. Texas doesn't get it's chance to extend it's streak quite yet. This is the week where SMU embarrasses aTm.

McNeal & Young were respectively the best 2 QBs in the state of Texas and the country when they were recruited
And Reggie has something on his resume that Vince doesn't have (and that Nordgren won't have the opportunity to have) -- a win over #1 OU.
If you really believe that Nordgren would give Reggie a run for his money, then you don't know much about either of them . . . or college football for that matter.

Since we're talking about QB's frogs.. how's the QB rating for Tye Gunn after your loss to us? Now run off and and TRY to win your first MWC conference game tonight... BWAHAHahahahahahahaha

Yeah, but he's also got 77-0 on his resume too. It could have been worse had the aTm scorekeeper not kept the clock running during timeouts.
Again, I don't really think Nordgren is a better QB, only that it would be a fight for #2. But maybe not a battle, just a a skirmish. Heh.
I was over-coffeed earlier, so I was probably mostly talking out of my [deleted]. It happens to the best of us.
Heh.

I really don't care about either of those guys, but to give Vince Young the edge over Reggie is problematic because the team backing Vince is waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaayyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy better than aTm. We're talking about the greatest O-Line in the NCAA and the best defense I've ever seen....I'm starting to sound like a UT homer. Anyway, nothing would satisfy me more than to see them both lose every game they ever went out to play (i know that's impossible b/c they play each other), but my point is simply that they are both great. I don't think we can say vince is better just because of numbers. The D left with slocum as far as aTm's concerned.

there's a lot of people that don't want to give Vince Young any credit because they all said he sucked and would never amount to anything. Now he is starting to pile it on those morons proving that talent + experience = excellence. This is why you don't wait until a players a senior or even a junior to get great athletes in the game-that is ridiculous. Texas' National Title hopes ride on the seasoned shoulders of Vince Young.
