Forgotten Mustangs?

I've read every magazine I can get my hands on, and every on-line prediction I can find. The names of the players discussed are all the same -- ShanD, Cunningham, Viloria, Jonas/KG -- and with good reason.

But I think there are some players who are getting very little hype who will sneak up and turn a lot of heads this year.

* WR Trey Griffin - there's no way this guy doesn't make an impact if we can get the ball in his hands. He has speed that only Kevin Garrett can match. And he seems really shifty, able to change directions in no time. If we can get him the ball, he'll score. Plenty

* LB Jarrian James - a couple of years ago, this guy was labeled as a future star, but spent most of last year on the shelf with injuries. But he showed as a freshman that he's a very instinctive player with exceptional speed and a nose for the ball. He can make plays all over the field, and he will .... this year.

Any other candidates?

For all the talk about Sterling Harris, I think Thornton Chandler will be the anchor of the offensive line. He will solidify the interior of the line, and be vital in opening holes for ShanD and Kincade.

Jay Taylor, great size and speed. Perfect build for a wide-out. Could be a great threat.

I heard complaints last year that Jay Taylor didn't always practice hard. Is that true? If so, has he changed since Coach Bennett and his staff arrived?

If so, you're right - he has the tools to be a great one. Size, speed, hands, etc.

I heard he measures closer to 6-5 than he does to his listed 6-4. That's a nice big target.

I dont know about his practice habits, but hopefully Bennett can provide some motivation because he is a nice big target and it would be a shame not to see him reach his full potential due to not practicing hard. I think the change in itself is going to inspire these players to realize that they have the opportunity to be a good football team. I really expect to see a big change in the program come fall.

Ehh, I'm not real worried. I dont want SMU to beat TCU, but I would like to see a turn around in the program. Some close friends of mine and my brothers have played at SMU so I wish the best for the team.

Well I am who you think I am, and I dont have any pole-vaulting buddies. I am the lone wolf at TCU. And at his pace I think Kyle is set to graduate in about 4 more years. By the way, who are you?

Watch out for Don Ieremia-Stansbury.
He's going to be a great linebacker before he's through at SMU.

Stansbury, B.J. Williams, Jarrian James and Justin Williams are all extremely fast. Coach Bennett will have a field day coming up with ways to turn those guys loose.

Alvin Nnabuife will crack the safety rotation and might even get some starts. Coach Bennett loved him during the spring.
