Is it just me...
Or are you wishing we could play someone else this weekend just to see what these guys can do!?! It's gonna be a long winter and spring to wait for next year, but it will be the most anticipated football season on the Hilltop in two decades.
Thanks for the great finish to the season, men!

Baylor
Tulane
Marshall
ECU
Tulsa
As I mentioned in the blog, if we had beaten Tulsa, because of tiebreakers, we would be playing this week.
Hell, I would like a 'do over' for the A&M game. No way we are 56 points worse than that team the way we finished.
Hey Blog, did you see the article in the DMN about Tulane last week? It quoted their coach as saying they have lost about 20 pounds per man since early in the season due to their circumstances. He said they are a far different team than they were earlier in the season. We might want a do-over against them, but they were the better team when we played in mid September.

You can try all you want, but you will never convince me that we should have lost that game. It was there only Div. IA win of the year. What I saw against Tulane was a team devoid of enthusiasm. I still contend that if SMU had been ready to play and punched them in the mouth early, they would have folded and SMU would have won that game. They are not, even then they were not, that much better than us.

I'm just passing on information that backs up my observation that they fell apart as the season went on, believe what you want. 20 pounds a man is a big deal.

I'd like to be playing TAMU again this Saturday. I think we would knock 'em around. I'm serious.
As for a "do-over" ... nah... the only thing I wish was that the refs wouldn't have blown the "incomplete pass" dead in the Marshall game.
But yeah, I was talking to one of my roommates (LonghornFan68) about this... he and I went to the TAMU game. I just know that this is a different team now then it was when we went into college station. The culture of losing that permeated the Hilltop, I believe, was a huge barrier to early season sucsess. (Do you think that this team NOW - as an example - would lose to Baylor? Absolutely not.)
What if luck would have had Rita look ta make landfall earlier, and pushed the game against TAMU to late in the season? (Like next week... which would be impossible seeing as it's championship Saturday.) Do you think we would lose to TAMU now? I don't think so.

The complicated setup I employed to watch the game on that all access would have drawn applause. The laptop and wireless internet came in pretty handy between cooking a turkey and hanging christmas lights.
The phrase "Just to let you know how much I love my family, SMU is winning by ______." was uttered no fewer than a dozen times.
