just went to the Tech website...CONFIRMED we are (as we all already knew) playing at Tech next year. The last game played between the two teams was at SMU, last year we did not play. Thus next year at Tech. The PF.com schedule is incorrect, though, I don't believe it's been updated in quite some time.

Call me optimistic, but...
Tech will not beat SMU by more than 20 (since their offense won't be "on a roll" yet). The optimism of holding Tech to a relatively low score (somewhere around 45) will carry into the UNT game, allowing us to defeat the Denton Eagles quite easily. Against SHSU, our talent will be much greater than their's (when was the last time we could say that?) and we will win handily. Arkansas State will be overconfident and undermanned after a good showing in a bowl game behind the play of a QB who will not be there next year. We beat them.
That leaves us at 3-1 going into conference. Assuming we get conference wins against Tulane, Marshall, ECU, Rice, and UH, that puts us at 8-4. Get another win against Tulsa (at home!), UTEP (we beat them this year), or UAB (again, at home) and we will look very valuable to a good bowl, meaning we won't have to play in Lafayette/New Orleans, LA, or Mobile, AL.
All of this adds up to a very successful recruiting class next year and eventually becoming a power in the new CUSA.

WOW, you are putting us in a bowl game already and now we are being selective as to which bowl we want to go to?
My point about Tech is that if SMU had started the year say vs UNT then had a few home games, once their offense had started to get some chemistry with a new quarterback I think an upset over Texas Tech would seem plausible....but starting the year versus Tech in Lubbock, I don't think SMU has a chance to win or play a close game...I only hope losing to Tech doesn't discourage the Stangs in their games following Tech...
I miss Troy Matthews.
