Call me old fashion but i like the smu look of old. the new look smu has and other schools that are more modern just doesnt do it for me. I think when you change a look like smu had, you take a little away from tradition.......the old blue, red and white to me just looked so much better. now its a darker blue, darker red helmets everything....just not the same watching them...thats just me what do yall think.....
just wanted to post something not so football serious.

I agree.....but I think it's a losing battle.
Each generation wants to be different and it seems the SMU Coaches
or who-ever bends to the pressure the kids place on them to "get with the times & lets update the uniform".
It's like a "gift" they give to the players. The kids get excited about a uniform change. They think they are part of "something new". It is something to talk about, something they can see as instant gratification. It's like their own signature.
Of course you notice schools like Penn State don't let that happen. And there is some argument that by looking more "today" it may catch a young possible recruits eye more so than a "tarditional look". But I still prefer the classic SMU look.

BRING BACK THE GLORY DAYS OF SMU FOOTBALL!!!
For some strange reason, one of the few universities that REFUSE to use their school colors: Harvard Crimson & Yale Blue.

I'm an oldtimer and I really like the new uniforms. Dark helmets are the thing right now as teams everywhere have been shifting to dark helmets for the last several years (TTech, Miss St, TCU, even Baylor for some games). I can't think of anyone that has shifted from dark helmets to white recently. I think SMU's overall look is terrific. Frankly, they could wear aqua for all I care if it would help them win games!

That's a joke. USC, Bama and Oklahoma have old-fashioned .... meaning TRADITIONAL .... uniforms, and they have tons of players interested in going to those schools. If we were to go 9-2 a few times, the recruits will be at Coach Bennett's door.Insane_Pony_Posse wrote: .... there is some argument that by looking more "today" it may catch a young possible recruits eye more so than a "tarditional look".
