SMU's first president, Robert S. Hyer, selected Harvard Crimson and Yale Blue as SMU's colors to symbolize SMU's high academic standards. We are one of the few Universities to have school colors with real meaning...and we just blow them off.

And check out the college football section of this week's Sporting News (Terrell Owens is on the cover.) In the "Inside Dish" section, the first item is something about how SMU hasn't produced a lot of NFL talent lately, but that KG is a likely first-day NFL draftee.
Although they did list him as having 4.4 speed. I'd heard previously that he'd run in the high 4.2s! (And that was timed electronically, not hand-held.)
