What does the North Texas loss do to recruiting?
I think its safe to assume it slaughtered it. I would guess there were more than a few local recuits in attendance.

Seriously, how can this loss hurt recruiting when SMU only has interest from about 8 kids ranked 5.4 or higher( a high two star) and being charitable only one of which even has SMU in his Top 4. The bottom fell out of Phil Bennett's recruiting 3 years ago-at about the time Oscar Giles left in fact. The talent level will be going down in coming years if you take a 3-5 year perspective.

It appears that Bennett's coaching by humiliation technique appears to be enough to keep us out of the recruiting battle for many players.

Prospective FB recruits at the NT/SMU
North Texas had a lot of prospective recruits and their parents at the game Saturday. Don't know names, but NT was excited about a lot of the HS players.
