Linebackers

Post by SMUguy »

So who starts at LB next year?

I say it's Bischoff, D.D. Lee and Jarrian James.

Or does Reggie Carrington crack the rotation? What about Jamar Bey and Cole Horton? Or one of the true freshmen, Zach Hall or Cory Muse?

Brian Bischoff should take over at middle linebacker. He's a playmaker.

Is it a done deal that DD Johnson is coming back?
When did he redshirt? I thought he played all four years?

He did play all 4 years, but only 3 games of his junior year. I havent heard if its a done deal, 3 games should be over the limit for a medical redshirt, but those things can be appealed.

I forgot, sounds like Corey Muse might play Tight End.

Really? I've read that they're going to try him at outside linebacker first, and then maybe even push him back to safety because of his speed and size. At 6'2", 210 (give or take a few pounds), he'd have a LONG way to go in the weight room before he cracks the tight end rotation. Trent Hrncir is listed at 6'5", 237. Ryan Kennedy is listed at 6'5", 240 (and that was before the season - he's stronger now.) And Darrin Johnson (this of course is relevant only if he plays TE) is 6'6", 270.

Cory Muse would be best-suited at OLB or safety.
