Post by MrMustang1965 »

FORT CARSON (AP) - Army Lt. Col. Eric Kruger, deputy commander of the 2nd Brigade Combat Team out of Fort Carson, was among three soldiers killed by a roadside bomb in Baghdad last Thursday, according to the Army.

Kruger, 40, of Garland, Texas, was killed while riding in a Humvee with Lt. Col. Paul J. Finken, 40, of Mason City, Iowa, and Staff Sgt. Joseph A. Gage, 28, of Modesto, Calif. Finken and Gage were members of the 101st Airborne Division.

He held bachelor’s and master’s degrees from Southern Methodist University.

I just read this on the DMN's website, very sad - apparently, he had only been there for a few days. Thoughts and prayers go out to his family.
"Then in the Arctic half-light of the canyon, all existence fades to a being with my soul and memories and the sounds of the Big Blackfoot River and a four-count rhythm and the hope that a fish will rise."

That's awful, I went to high school with that guy, he was a year behind me and his brother was in my class. Good guy as I recall too.
