He spoke twice at SMU after he became President. He even shook hands with folks after his episodes in California where Manson's girls took pot shots at him. A very decent man. I was lucky to be given a gallery pass to his inaugural address (which was held in the House Chamber inside the Capitol). One of those really neat memories.
