Stark will be missing from MNF broadcasts
May 13, 2003

Melissa Stark will not return to ABC's "Monday Night Football" for a fourth season as a sideline reporter because she is pregnant.

Stark is expecting her first child in September. She has worked Monday night games since 2000, when she and Eric Dickerson replaced Lesley Visser on the sidelines.

Dickerson left after two seasons.

ABC Sports vice president Mark Mandel said Tuesday the show is seeking a new reporter for the 2003 season.

Now you know why I have been so busy and not posting on the message board. We plan on naming the baby Peruna Kiki Alpha. Of course those are initials of the number one frat on campus! GO PIKE!

I'd love to see Dickerson back on the sideline - every broadcast should have a Mustang, even one with Dickerson's .... "skills" - but no Melissa Stark? Monday Night Football just won't be the same. She was the main reason to watch when your favorite team wasn't playing.

Hope she returns in 2004!
