Weekend Camp At Ford

Post by 50's PONY »

There was a big camp at Ford this weekend. Didn't have a chance to stop but from Mockingbird it looked like a large group and most looked like linemen.
Anyone go?

Can't help with any names, but I stopped and watched the activity on the practice fields for awhile. The coaches were working 'em pretty hard - looked very well organized and rigorous (to say the least).

Carroll offensive lineman Sam Schwartstein who has offers from about six schools including Purdue was there. He's about 6-4, 255.

This guy sound like a great Kick-off and Punt returner. Even a slot guy that could stop and throw the ball.

Maybe he will get a little taller too. But fast

punt returner? slot receiver? At 5'8" does he not seem like a prototypical Bennett QB?

Dodge is packin em in at UNT.

From David McNabbs blog:

Magic camp: Dodge packs 'em in at UNT
by Dave McNabb Thu, Jun 14, 2007, 02:46 PM
Todd Dodge's 16th annual QB/WR camp remains one of the Southwest USA's top draws for young talent. Dodge started the camp as a North Texas assistant and after leading Southlake Carroll to four state titles in the last five years, Dodge and his camp moved back to the University of North Texas. Dodge was named North Texas coach last December.

The camp drew 600 players this week from as far away as North Carolina, Mississippi, every Texas border state and hundreds from around the state including San Antonio, Smithson Valley, Katy, Austin Westlake and Allen.

Would you like a gold star or a cookie?

When are you going to realize we don't care? (Or at least I presume I can speak for most everyone on Ponyfans) You can puff up and beat your chest all you want, but we aren't going to all of the sudden see you in a new light. You look like a whiny little kid tugging at mommy's apron yelling, "look at me, look at me," fighting for her attention. You can flash last year's score all you want to inflate your ego; you can paint it on a billboard on I-35 for all I care. But if you're going to post on this board, do us all a favor and 1) quit trying to make sure yourself better by putting down SMU (or anything SMU related) and 2) contribute something worthwhile to the conversation.

David McNabb is one of the laziest reporters going around, reporting on heresay rather than facts. I'm not buying that figure and by the way, I really don't care how many Dodge got in there. He'll get his kids who are Sun Belt material and we'll get ours who are CUSA material.

Because what's every 18 year olds dream? To play under the bright lights of the Sun Belt for their 1 Bowl Tie in.
