Suggestions for a present?

Post by Peruna2001 »

My nephew's 12th birthday is in about 2 weeks and I'm trying to find a present for him. Like I've been doing since I started at SMU, I've been trying to brainwa*...er...encourage my nephew and niece to go to SMU by giving them SMU footballs, cheerleading outfits, tshirts, etc. Is it hard to get Coach Doherty to sign an SMU bball?

I'll probably also be getting him a gamestop or best buy giftcard, so I can't go extremely expensive. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

A visit with his uncle during an SMU home date? Plus if he's cute or precocious at all you might be able to use him to pick up women, kinda like a puppy. If he gets to Dallas early enough on the weekend you could take him to meet some of the players and coaches.
The donkey's name is Kiki.

On a side note, anybody need a patent attorney?

Good, Bad...I'm the one with the gun.

It is not hard to get Doherty's signature on a Basketball. Just make sure you spell it right.

Seriously, if I were a 12 year old I would like a football with Bennett's signature or a BB with Doherty's.

A trip to Culwell's farm to meet Peruna might be kind of different. I'm sure they'd let you come if you went through the AD's office and worked out the details. Take an apple or a carrot and Peruna will be happy to hang out.

Yeah...I might do that next time they come to Dallas. Unfortunately, they're in San Antonio. I've already got a headstart since I'm a former handler.

Get him a mini-helmet... those are cool and you can put them on a bookshelf, etc.

I think they are all being used by our WRs and CBs.

Bring home an SMU cheerleader (preferably female). The kid is probably reaching puberty and he can fantasize for years.

Forget the kid...I'll put her on my birthday wishlist.

In my day on the Hilltop, probably my Freshman year, an unfortunate video made the rounds online of an SMU cheerleader. Considering I had no real contact with her, other than when she was doing the cheerleading thing, every time I caught sight of her before a game, during a game, etc. my mind always returned to that video.

I thought, that's ashame here's this beautiful unique individual and all I can think of is this salacious internet video. Then I realized that I had similar thoughts about pretty much every other attractive female cheerleader since I was 9... except those were all imagined.

Maybe she was actually unattractive, maybe that's why I had a problem.

(That was a joke... regardless I felt bad for the girl. Jeez, here I am, random freshman, alongside a thousands of other folks, who have seen her in a very compromising position and I didn't even know her name or anything about her. It really had to be no fun for her, at all.... I felt like saying something. But what's to say? "I'm sorry I have seen you sans clothing in an 'instructional' video. The dude who sent this out must be a real jerk." That just wouldn't work out, I'm afraid. I mean I did watch the darn thing.)

How about a link?

Seriously, before this thread degenerates any further, get your nephew's balls autographed, er... well, whatever mrydel said.

And Thad, you can PM me that link....

Mustang Band freshmen used to get an up-close meeting with Peruna.

(Can I say that?)
