I hope SMU burries NT this year to make up for that humiliating lose last year. If i remember it right NT put in Woody Wilson at qb and he dominated our d but he wasnt very success the rest of the year. My question is does anybody know if he's still the qb there?

Woody Wilson-
Yes Woody will be back for the 2007 season. Quick note or two-
Woody Wilson was heavily recruited by several Big 12 and SEC
teams as a cornerback/safety. D Dickey told Woody he would be a
QB at North Texas. Only problem was DD could never decide on a
regular starter. Which QB that had a "hot" hand, stayed in the game-
thus SMU got to see Woody first hand. DD would pull a QB at the first
mistake. DD would play all 3 QB's in some games, so the QB position
was by committee.
The QB job is still wide open, as per Coach Dodge, so which guy will it
be: Meagar, Vizza, Tune, W. Wilson, Phillips? Who ever is the guy, Coach
Dodge stated that "he will not have to worry about looking back over his
shoulder". For Woody Wilson, I predict that he will be moved over to a
slot WR position, to take advantage of his speed. He is too good not to
be on the field!

I believe I have seen this strategy somewhere else before...

He (Jamario) went for 90 yards and a TD.
It WAS on 25 carries though...so that's 3.6 a carry.
Don't know if this is your definition of "did not do jack" or not but I'd call it adequate.

How is Tune?
Currently, Tune is listed as the #2 QB, behind Meager.
Had a pretty good spring, has a strong arm with lazer type pass.
Has picked up Coach Dodge's system pretty well. Needs experience
and opportunity to work with the team, which will be difficult to gain
this year, because Coach Dodge does want to give highly touted incoming
recruit, Giovanni Vizza, a strong look, plus there are 3 other QB's on
the roster. The number of QB candidates are all looking to get reps, so
Tune will have to really shine during the fall. The spring workouts have
given him good experience, and he has bulked up his 6-3 frame.
Coach Dodge trives on competition at each position, so the QB position
is still wide open. All of the QB candidates are on equal ground right now
so Tune has the same opportunity as the other candidates.

Included two longer (15-25 yard) runs in the waning minutes of Q4.
The score was not indicative of the prowess of NTSU...rather the lack of said vis-a-vis SMU.

My thots are not on NT now and they seem to be thinking of us for they stay on our board so much! We are not trying to impress them! The truth is that our offense had not gotten off the ground in that game and their offense had time after time to make yards and run our defense in the ground. Hopefully, our offense will take much of the time this year that our defense will have more time to rest while the offense lights up the board....Just not into NT...sorry....Go Mustangs!!!

Was it "lower" than the 0-12 season under Bennett?
If it wasn't, IMO it was awfully close. I can't remember being any more embarassed than I was that day in Denton. Still sickens me to this day

To elaborate...atleast Bennett had his "not my recruits" excuse for his 0-12 season, he had no such excuse for the NTSU game, and the way he handled the offense was pathetic. Nothing but 2 yard outs. After being burned in the past by an option-running QB (anyone remember his first game vs Navy?) how could you not prepare for another one? [deleted] poor coaching
