Very interesting article on Notre Dame's options. First, their current status may need to be revised.
- Join Big Ten
- Stay Independent with Big East ties
- Join ACC
- Join all Cathlic Conference
They, like Stanford, do value the Sears Cup standings and excellence in all sports (Olympic, etc.). This makes current Big East links less attactive than they appear and the idea of an All Catholic League even harder to make work.

Re: Don't assume ND won't be proactive
Jeez, could you imagine the Irish in the ACC? A conference with ND, Miami, Florida State, Maryland and NC State? If that were to take place, we should never hear a peep again out of Austin or College Station or Norman or Manhattan about the Big 12 being the best football conference. The ACC would have an absolute lock on that title.
