And I'm done . . .
I simply cannot take it anymore. I am still going to 'Boulevard,' attend the games and cheer on the Ponies, but I am through having any sort of hopes expectations. The outcome of the game will no longer have anything to do with my gameday enjoyment.
They seem to be finding new and increasingly creative and painful ways to lose football games. I really can't take caring about it anymore this season. The last two home games have now become nothing more than excuses to hang out on The Hilltop and day-drink with friends.

I'm not going to subscribe to it permanently. But once I knew the season was toast at Ark. St., it's been nice to go and feel the indifference.
Even as exciting as Saturday was and once Willis was sacked to end the game, none of it bothered me. A game was played and it was over.
I'm sure the emotions will return next year with the new staff, but for now, it's nice to go and enjoy a nice night out with the family and see some friends.
This year, the record doesn't mean anything anymore. In fact, nothing on the field means anything.

You will be back... SMU football is an addiction, much like Heroin.

Yes. We shouldn't *expect* to wake up tomorrow morning.
Let me ask you a question. Did the loss on Saturday night cause you any anguish?
It didn't cause me any because I had no faith that this staff would find a way to put our players in a position to win. So when you get to that point, it's time for a new voice.

No, since I had no expectation we would win, it did not. However, neither did it provide a pleasant surprise, which I had hoped for.
You're either a zen master, a liar, or a heartless son of a gun. I certainly didn't expect to win. But I hurt like hell when we lost. Maybe it was the way we lost. Willis leads a masterful -- masterful -- drive for the touchdown to tie the game. Forte scores, not a surprise at all. But then Willis fumbles and, just like that, it's over. It couldn't just be over. I was stunned.
