Don't think it would happen since I think SMU wants to have someone in place soon and A$M has already said that they wouldn't address Fran until the end of the year.

Their year ends 11/23 and that is not too far away. Depends on who has their hand out for the job.

i could see Tubberville leaving Auburn for A&M. its much easier to compete in the Big 12 than the SEC

Why?

Is anyone, including TCU not aware that Fran is a fraud and hasn't actually accomplished much of anything on his own? His success at TCU was mostly due to Patterson and Tomlinson (who he didn't recruit, by the way). At Alabama he ran away before he could be exposed. Now at A&M I guess he thought he would miraculously become a good coach. But instead, he has been exposed for what he really is... an empty shirt with a whistle.

Why on God's green earth would you want him?

Fran is the Man for this job. He turned TCU around with serious help from a previous recruiting class that sent 19 players to NFL, Tomlinson, and an incredible DC (Gary Patterson)......but I still believe he would be highly successful at SMU and you're probably not going to attract anyone better.

Imagine going to a bowl game, just picture it in your head. I think Fran could do this for SMU.
