SMU football has been in a rebuilding era for the past 18 years. With only one winning season since 1987 being an SMU football fan has not been easy. Visit Pony Fans for a clearer understanding of why SMU has to suffer through so many losing football games and seasons. The events that led up to the issuing of the death penalty and how those events still impact the SMU football program today are listed in the timeline below. Most people know that due to recruiting violations in the eighties, the NCAA levied sanctions against SMU. The sanctions came to be known as the college football equivalent of “the death penaltyâ€

At least after we dropped the bomb on Japan, we rebuilt their country. When is the NCAA going to rebuild SMU's football program?

Not that good on a computer. I grew up playing pong and my computer skills are limited to evaluations and checking email at work.

I say we sue the NCAA for 20 years of loosing . . . after all, it is all their fault!

I'll bet the U.S. gov't wishes it had had this genius on staff to save us all the money we poured into that rebuilding.

i wonder how much we could sue for after 20 years of loosing . . . you figure maybe 10 bowl games, a few conf championships . . . plus interest . . . around 75 million???

it would be way more than 75 million i would think...i'd say about 100 million...5mil/year.
