It's pretty sad when you go to that site and have more UCF fans online posting than SMU. I have to believe it has something to do with the RIDICULOUS "articles" I've read there. That Gangi guy seems to write things that make some sense, but the other guy -- whatever!
Garrett has been an OC for a year, and a QB coach for a couple? He has never coached in college - let alone been a head coach. Not that I really care, but if Baylor hires Singletary, I think they lose their "hero" and continue to lose a lot of games.
I have lived in a few cities with big football programs, and always liked the Rivals sites for those teams. Luckily I found this one when I got to Dallas.

We suck and we are desperate. We have tried old coaches, offensive coordinators and defensive coordinators and we have tried HC from smaller programs. And the result is we still suck. Experiments are over. We spend the big bucks and make a REAL commitment to big time football. And we hire a real top notch coach with HC success, recruiting success and PR success. Experiments with pro football assistance or pro HC failures is just that...another experiment doom to failure. Forget the OC/DC from any pro team. We do need to hire a big name with a big splash and the ability to wow recruits for the next couple of years during the continued 20 + year rebuilding effort.

If they didn't have Rivals, their site would be the laughing stock. But they are pro-SMU, so I won't rip on them too much.

We have a better chance of getting Bob Stoops and Mack Brown to co-coach the team than Jason Garrett leaving the Cowboys to come to SMU right now...
How incredible would that be to have Mack Brown handling recruiting and Bob Stoops the game day coaching...we'd be unstoppable.
