Texas OC Greg Davis to SMU?
This is what is posted on the Austin American Statesman's site tonight. I looked around and didn't see it posted here yet so here it is. Would be an interesting hire for you if he is hired. He could certainly recruit, has run a powerful offense at Texas (although adapted slow after Vince left didn't put a plan in place immediately to fit the strengths of Mc Coy). As pointed out in the story not sure if SMU would want a first time HC.

Southern Methodist has approached Texas offensive coordinator Greg Davis about its vacant head football coaching job, the American-Statesman has learned.
A source close to the Longhorn coaching staff said Davis has been contacted by SMU unofficially. Texas Athletic Director DeLoss Dodds said no one from SMU has contacted him to ask for permission to talk to Davis and added that he would not comment in the future about speculation on the Longhorn coaching staff.
Davis declined any substantial comment Tuesday afternoon, saying through a spokesman, “I have always found it’s best not to comment publicly on speculation regarding job opportunities. We’re concentrating on Friday’s game with Texas A&M.â€

If there is a football God, please for the love of Pete let this be true! SMU please hire Greg Davis as your next head coach so we can get a real OC!
After this season, I'm more concerned with hiring a DC that knows about stunts, spies, and other adaptations instead of your basic 4-3.

I doubt Greg Davis would leave his cushion of a job at Texas. The fact that he still has a job is amazing and makes you wonder what kind of dirt he has on Mack. Any offensive success at Texas has not been a result of his efforts. When they let "Vince be Vince" it was PC for VY telling GD to go to hell with his play calling.
I dislike Greg Davis as much as I dislike Fran.
