Offensive Line

Post by PonyExpress »

I've read a lot about how our offensive line took such a huge hit with the loss of Chavira, Adami and Bandy. Some say our line will be "undersized" this year (can a line with Joey Slaten really be called undersized?) My question is, if a lack of bulk really becomes an issue, how can we compensate?

Last year we had many hurt or playing dinged up. This year we have 14 (I think) o-linemen on the roster. We redshirted a bunch like Harris and others. Are they great, I don't know? Are we in better shape than 1st. game last year, Much Better.

I have got to admit, I was pleasantly surprised with the performance of our offensive line last season, all things considered. I am confident that we will have a great performance out of our o-line next fall. I think Randy Williams is doing a great job!

When did Coach Baker become the first string offensive line coach? I did not know that! Can anyone give me some information about this coach, I know nothing about him! Thanks for any information you can give!

Coach Baker came with the offensive coordinator from Southern Mississippi. He's from Arizona, I think, and played college ball at UTEP. Let's hope their offensive scheme is successful here as it was in MS! The Mustang I know so well really seems to like and respect C. Baker and is really enthused about the upcoming season! Also, heard positive comments from some of the others.

Yes, I am a regular here and do find the reading most enjoyable. I don't post much to avoid criticism from a certain large individual.

South Texas Pony --

That "certain individual" may be large, but surely he knows whose boss, right? Share whatever's on your mind!
