Jordan Gush
I have it first hand that Jordan Gush wants to accept the scholarship
offered to him by SMU. Do you think it will be pulled because his
father was let go? He is an awesome player and would be and asset.

Yea, as the child of a employee you get free tuition so he would have not counted against the scholie count. Thing is, when you use a parentship the athletic dept. doesn't pay for everything else (room and board, etc), neither does the university. So, ole PB paid for li'l Bennett's R&B. Or he lived at home. Whatever.
Sir, shooting-star, sir.

I thought he had a Utah offer.
Not true?
Kudos to Jordan if he wants to play for SMU. You've got to be really sure about the school itself if you can separate the attractive features SMU has from the fact that the school fired your dad. I don't know that I would have the maturity to make that distinction. Sounds like Jordan Gush has his head screwed on straight. Having met his dad a few times, that's no surprise.

Gush fits my expectation for Jones' first signee: a WR that was interested but uncomitted previously, who sees this as too good a chance to pass up. Act quickly and get in there and hope for the best.

I could very well be wrong, but I thought that any scholarship a football player receives has to count as football scholarship. Otherwise, you could have a school completely fill their bball team, or track team, or ______ team with nothing but football players to get extra football scholarships.
Not sure Gush is right for the new offense - although he was impressive the game I saw him at (HP) but dont think he is a break away threat. The "control" wr needs to be taller. If you go to a 6 ft guy he needs to have serious speed.
Gush will be a good fit in Jones' offense. None of the Hawaii guys had what I would call "breakaway speed" they had separation speed and that's what you need to rack up the YAC. If he comes he'll be a possession/slot-tpe guy, but not a home run guy.
