Classy move by Penders

Post by PonySnob »

Class move last night by UH coach Tom Penders to not allow his guys to take a shot at the end of the game to put them over 100 against a clearly outmanned SMU team.

Agreed.

On a side note – it is kind of ironic that someone named snob is complimenting someone for being classy??

Regardless of who said it, the fact that ANYONE calls Penders classy is a bit of a shock to the system.

I also thought it was classy of him to keep most of his starters in the game with 2 minutes left, up by 24 while still jacking up 3's every possession and having his team stay in their half court trap.

I don't have a problem with a team blowing us out and keeping their foot on our neck, but to call Penders classy? I don't have anything against the man. I just think it's a bit much to say that the man who claims he invented the jump stop has class because he didn't try to score 100 points in a game.

A few kids at Texas might disagree that Penders is "classy"

I was VERY surprised he didn't let them go for 101(2).

Penders said after the game that he and Doherty are closer since they played golf together recently.

Did Penders score 100 at that game?

You know u have a bad team when u are thankful the other team didn't break 100 & that u are even having this discussion. Damn, lets just go ahead & thank all the upcoming teams in advance for not running up the score on us :) .

Personally, I hope that we go down to U of H & kick their over confident butts next time. Unlikely, yes. But if there is one team that's the best candidate for this to happen to, its a Tom Penders coached team.

I hope our kids develop before Penders retires so I can enjoy the payback.
