QB Bo Mitchell Commits to SMU
switched commitment from Hawaii. Confirmed there was a JUCO QB and some offensive linemen visiting this weekend
Bo Levi Mitchell, 6-1, 185 Katy HS
Mitchell led the Tiger squad to an undefeated record (16-0) and the fifth state championship in school history. . He led the 5A Greater Houston quarterbacks with 37 touchdowns throwing for 2,455 yards and only had 4 Ints.
Offers SMU and Hawaii. Rated 2 stars 5.2 but had an unexpectantly great senior year. Also recruited by pass happy teams Boise St. and North Texas.

Bo is a great pickup....I saw him play numerous times during the season and two things stood out to me.
1) Leadership - he always seemed to have the team on the same page no matter what the situation.
2) Intelligence - he always took what the defense gave him and didn't try to force the ball.
These two qualities def fit the Run and Shoot perfectly and this is a great pickup as JJ's first official commitment.

My guess is that Bo will redshirt, so this will not affect JWill at all. However, if Craft (the JC QB) also commits, then Craft will have someone to push him for the starting job. Remember, in JJ's offense SMU will need 2 QBs ready to play.

Katy, Texas, quarterback Bo Levi Mitchell originally made a commitment to Hawaii, but with the hire of June Jones at SMU, the 6-foot-1, 185-pounder decided to check out the Ponies this weekend on an official visit.
Bo Levi Mitchell is heading to SMU now.
The visit ended up being a good one for SMU, as the all-metro selection decided to pull the trigger and switch from Hawaii to SMU.
"It's always great to get to play closer to home, because your friends and family can always come see you all the time," Mitchell said. "But for me it's a better overall decision. SMU is a great academic institution, and that was something that was really important to me. It's just a great decision for me."
Mitchell said Jones told him that SMU will be throwing the ball quite a bit when he gets to campus.
"We're going to hit the ground running and rack up all those yards in the air," Mitchell said. "It's going to be a great fit for me, and I think it'll be really attractive to a lot of other top recruits in Texas."
Mitchell said SMU had a small crop of visitors in this weekend along with himself.
"There was a juco quarterback and some offensive linemen," Mitchell said.

im a katy fan and now a SMU fan because bo levi mitchell will turn that program around this kid is just flat out a winner. extemely great arm and accuracy and the brians to run any offense. hes as humble as they come and says he really just wants the best education he can get and thats why he was considering colorado school of mines for engineering. i cant wait to see this kid play in an smu uniform under jj s wing
