Anyone else impressed with the amount, and quality, of SMU football coverage in the Dallas Morning News lately? I no longer live in Dallas, but still keep up with my teams via the web version. It has been refreshing to see so many SMU articles lately. 2 of the 5 featured columnist articles online are currently about the Hilltop.

Keith Whitmire and others are keeping us up to date. The DMN no longer has a TCU beat writer which also helps.

Is that a budget thing? The Star-Telegram still sends a guy over to cover the Ponies.
Which, of course, is how it should be.

I don't think they do. Maybe an occasional story but not a beat reporter for SMU at the ST. I could be wrong but I doubt it.

well I'm surprised because from reading the Frog Forum I've been led to believe that adding SMU to CUSA wouldn't add anything because they already had a Metroplex team in CUSA.

Stallion - are you kiddin' me - CUSA really doesn't even need another Texas team - because TCU pretty much carries the entire state of Texas.

The media just keeps on talking about TCU - esp. those talk radio guys - they cannot get enough of TCU sports Talk.

I even heard that TCU will be replacing Texas in next year's red river shootout. It will be called TCU-OU weekend and the big event will be held in Wichita Falls (somewhat between OU and Ft. Worthless).
