I don't read it that way
I read it that the MM guys will be at the press conference at 2:30. But as information comes in, and they say they expect it to be slow from SMU's side, they'll post it.
Same as this board, no?

You kidding me? Where do you think SMU is getting all of its information on the kids they're going to give to the press? They've been hunting down info. on Rivals and Scout for weeks on these kids, just like everyone else on this board.
SMU's just covering their rump in their press release so they can slow-play the information. It's not a very "top 25 in all that we do" approach, but that's the way it goes for now.

No it's not. In fact I would bet you my life that you are completely, 100%, totally wrong about all of that. So please, stop saying such hideously incorrect things about something you obviously know nothing about.

Just so I understand what you're saying... Is it your contention that the Staff has been using Rivals and Scout to track down and recruit these kids? Or are you saying that they are using Rivals and Scout to collect the measurables for these kids?

I was not aware of NCAA rules that all information had to be gathered before it could be released.
I honorably retract all previous comments.
Cadillac - obviously, I didn't come across well. What I meant to relate was that the SID staff will probably be including Rivals and Scout ratings and information in their releases. And why not? Using them as resources for information just like most on this board do. [/i]

Ah...the good ol' days! I used to love covering Signing Day news conferences in the principal's office or the coach's office at the high schools in Longview, Victoria and Kerrville!Stallion wrote:yeah where do you think I started out compiling information on recruits. As a student assistant in the SIDs office. A lot easier today. Used to have to call their Coaches and hometown newspapers.

And anyone who doesn't think that the SMU AD staff doesn't monitor pf.com...just take a look at the post above from SMU SID. 'Nuff said!
Hope to see ya'll tonight at the Signing Day party at the Radisson Hotel from 6 p.m. - 7:30 p.m.!
