According to Scout, Beaumont Westbrook's Reed committed to Coach Hundley late Sunday evening. Rival's says he is 2 stars, 5.4 rated, 6-1, 195 lbs., 4.5 forty. Welcome to SMU Taylor. You will have a great time and get plenty of chances on the field to exhibit your talent!

The only thing I have even remotely in common with Stallion is that the best way to evaluate prospects is by the offers they have. Looks like this cat didn't have another Div.1A offer. Glad to see we're back to fighting Stephen F. Austin and Texas A&M-Commerce for recruits

Back off Warchild seriously.

Taylor Reed is a guy I really like. I have him at 6-0.5, 185, but I haven't had updated data in a few months. What is accurate is that speed â€" this guy can really run.
He reminds me of former Kansas State linebacker/safety Josh Buhl. Reed is a couple inches taller, and (more importantly) a couple of tenths of second faster. Buhl eventually moved from linebacker to safety in Manhattan, but was recruited as a linebacker out of high school, and Reed is a similar player.
His 4.5 speed is legitimate. Reed is around the ball constantly, partially because of that speed and partially because he is a very smart player who reads offenses quickly. He is very good in coverage because of his speed and because he changes direction quickly. He also should be effective on special teams, covering on kicks.
Reed needs to add bulk and strength, but has a frame that will allow him to add considerable size. He would benefit from a redshirt year, but should be a valuable addition to the SMU defense.
