And, we're playing Baylor and North Texas ...
TCU and the University of Virginia will begin a home-and-home football
series next season in Charlottesville, Va.
The Horned Frogs and Cavaliers will meet Sept. 12 at Scott Stadium. Virginia will travel to Amon G. Carter Stadium in Fort Worth in the 2012 campaign.
Virginia gives 15th-ranked TCU (9-2, 6-1) three confirmed non-conference
games next season. The Frogs also have Sept. 19 and Sept. 26 home dates with Texas State and SMU, respectively. A fourth and final non-conference game will be announced later.
TCU and Virginia will face each other for just the second time in their
history. The first meeting saw a 20-10 Cavalier victory in the 1994
Independence Bowl.
Virginia represents the Frogs' first game against an ACC opponent since
1997, when North Carolina won 31-10 at TCU.
The Cavaliers, coached by Al Groh, are 5-5 this season with a 3-3 mark in
ACC play.
The Frogs are 11-3 in their last 14 games against teams from conferences
with automatic BCS bids.

Baylor and UNT are two GREAT non conference games for SMU and they should pay them every year. TCU will not get any more cred for playing Virginia, all that gets them is a 1/2 empty stadium when Virginia comes calling and a hella big travel bill when they go to Virginia.
People forget that the UNT game last year was our second best crowd of the season (behind Tech) and Baylor would be close to a sellout game.
We come out better on this one.

You are Claiming a Home and Home with Virginia has much more prestige than a home and home with Baylor? a regional BCS school and a member of the vaunted BCS South...
Go ahead and start a poll and find out which is the better series, a home and home with Baylor or a home and home with Virginia and you will see.
The ACC is a weak BCS conference and Virginia is a LONG way, Baylor is an old rival, will travel well to Dallas, and is a member of the Big 12 South....
A no brainer......Baylor all the way.

Frogs have Baylor next year. Virginia is a solid home and home in my book. I hear tell we may have one coming up too with Ole Miss, which I like as well. I like mixing up the OOC ( while of course keeping SMU on the schedule) as long as they are home/homes. Keep the Texas States off there as much as we can

Nothing wrong with a Home and Home with Virginia, all I was saying that the statement that Virginia is a much better opponent for a home and home over Baylor is preposterous, a Baylor series has so many more perks, including regional interest and attendance, in fact, Baylor is the closet BCS to the DFW area.

Virginia doesn't travel well. That's a given. Virginia is also a schizophrenic team. They can beat teams they have no business beating and then lose to Duke. So, its a bit of a risky game for TCU. They could lose to the Cavs and yet the Cavs end up at the bottom of the ACC so the loss hurts TCU's stature. Or they could beat the Cavs and the Cavs end up a the bottom of the ACC so it matters not. Groh is on the hotseat because his teams have not played to the level expected.

No doubt...they are all over the map. Still, I am excited to play some BCS teams from other parts of the country - Stanford, Virginia, LSU. Vandy, maybe Ole Miss, etc.
