Embarrassing night out

Tonight I took some clients to dinner who went to Oklahoma State and were at the game saturday night.

Their comments:

"There was no red anywhere in the stands.

"No offense, but SMU looked like a junior high team out there...I couldn't believe they were a college team."

"They just couldn't compete...and we're (OSU) not even that big."

"The game was a joke...I don't think SMU has any business playing in Division I-A."

"I am embarrassed for you."

I really didn't have any comebacks...and I hate that, YEAR AFTER YEAR!!!!

I've NEVER been one to agree that we should cut our football program; in fact, I adamantly opposed it...until now...I'm really not sure we should keep this up any longer. Sorry.

We either win in football and basketball or we chuck it all. Several other schools have had big turn arounds during the time has steadily slid deeper into the bottom ten of football. I don't think SM can survive without football but our losing ways are killing us too. The future is now!
