Seriously, who is the backup QB on this team?

Post by George S. Patton »

I couldn't even venture a guess. Padron may redshirt -- at least I would hope he would be redshirted. That guy from New Mexico State has to sit out a year

Is it Braden Smith? Should Willis be healthy, would he be considered No. 3?

Given that there are only two QBs on the roster and eligible to play, and given that one of them started every game last year, that sort of narrows it down a little.

Why would we need a backup QB?

Actually I think this maybe one of the most important questions of the spring. I really think that Bradon Smith has improved this spring and may have moved himself up to backup. Prior to this spring I beleive the coaches felt Kyle Padron would have to be the backup.

Brandon has been working much harder than Braden...Brandon is #2 on the depth chart now

How is this even a question?
Braden Smith is the backup, and barring a superhuman performance in August by Padron (like good enough to challenge BLM for the starting job), Smith will remain the backup.

I was of the opinion that until Bradon's improvement this spring that was an open question.

We would never move a TE to QB, just QB to TE . . . and don't call me Shirley.
Sports, and all that implies.
